Teacher’s Report

Student:  Fred Reuben

Throughout these eight weeks of teaching Fred he has displayed initiative as well as listening attentively.   As a result he understood what was expected of him and took full responsibility for his own learning.  This was through accepting challenges and completing his home-work regularly.   This has clearly made a significant impact on Fred’s learning as he is very confident in the subjects and topics covered during his visit to England.

As a teacher I have been teaching Fred three main core subjects: Maths, English and Science.  In his visit I have been teaching him different topics in Maths including:

Adding and Subtracting Algebras
Rounding
Angles
Transformation, and Shapes,
Constructions and Loci
Rotations and Perpendicular dissects
Graphs and Percentages

All through the teaching sessions Fred has improved his Maths skills greatly.  Some of the topics such as Construction and Loci he found them difficulty to begin with, however, as he practiced them regularly he eventually mastered the topic.

In English Fred practiced his writing skills where we concentrated on his grammar, spelling, the use of vocabulary and sentence structures. On later weeks we also started looking at homonyms, homographs and homophones.  Fred’s writing skill has rapidly improved in these past few weeks.  He still needs more practice in his grammar and spelling skills but other than that I am proud to say Fred’s English is much better now than when I first started teaching him.  Not only that, his reading skills with expressions have improved as well, this is because we went on reading ‘The Famous Five’story books which Fred enjoyed.

In Science I didn’t cover very many topics with Fred; this is because another teacher (Miss Jesca James) took him for this subject. However according to the teacher’s comment, Fred covered the following topics;

Cells and Cell transport
Keeping Healthy
Heart Circulation and Pulses and heart rates
Atoms and Reproduction – Cloning

Fred’s Science teacher commented that; Fred has done really well in the Science subject. He was a bit unsure with Atoms to start with but he gradually understood them as the teacher went through them again with him

As Fred’s teacher, I am proud to say that Fred has been very polite and respectful.  He was happy to work with me and he was always prepared and ready to settle down to work.  According to Fred himself; he said he had enjoyed to learn all the things he has learnt and believes that they have helped him to improve a great deal.

So I conclude by saying I am very proud of Fred and I wish him the best and hope he reaches his goals in life.
