Family History:
Silas’s father died when he was seven years old. His mother died of HIV AIDS in 2004. He then went to his grandfather who was very rude to Silas. He gave Silas very hard jobs due to the fact that he should work in order to eat. He also was speaking very nasty words to Silas like, “your mother was just a prostitute that is why she is dead and you expect me to look after you”! “You got to do everything I tell you otherwise, you will be in trouble”! Silas decided to go to his uncle where he was not welcomed at all. His uncle also had the same ideas as his grandfather.
A Good Samaritan welcomed Silas for one night and the following day, she gave him some bus fare to come to Sogesca – Bethany. When he arrived at Sogesca, he met the village leader who brought him to Bethany because Silas explained the situation to him. Silas did not know whom he was talking to so it was just by coincidence that he met the village leader to bring him to Bethany. Bethany had to investigate the story and it was found to be true that Silas needed help.
