Family History:
Lucas’ parents divorced when he was still in his mother’s womb. His father was very rude and used to beat his wife which led to divorce. His mother went back to her home place and had birth of Lucas. She started a business which helped her to buy food and run her life with her two children. In 1999, Lucas’ mother became ill – TB so was unable o keep her business progress. She then gave birth to Emmanuel, and Biku with another man which made life so difficulty because the family became bigger.
She recovered from her illness and continued with her business. In 2002 she became seriously ill and died. Lucas was left as big boy in his a family to look after his two sisters and a brother. They were taken by their uncle but his wife was not pleased to have these four children so she mistreated them. Later Lucas heard of Kuleana and went there to find a possibility of being looked after. When he told them that he had his brother and sister, they were not interested. He went back home and heard of Bethany. He came to Magu police station where they took him to the social office. The social office wrote Bethany a letter to introduce him. In two weeks time Bethany visited Lucas’ home place with the help of that village leader, they managed to bring them (three) at Bethany.
