Family History:
Jesca’s father died in 2003 and the mother in October 2005. They were all farmers. She has one sister and one brother. After the death of her parents, she went to her aunt in the same village. Her aunt’s husband was very rude to his own wife and to Jesca. Life was very tough because several times this man would beat his wife, which led Jesca’s aunt to run away from her husband. When Jesca was left there, life became harder. A neighbour, went to the Village leader to introduce Jesca so that if there could be any possibility of moving her from that family. The village leader wrote her a letter to bring to Bethany. She was given a lift on a bicycle about 40 km away to come to Bethany to bring the letter and see if Bethany could accept her. The letter was read and the team decided that they should go visit the family and decide whether they should take Jesca or not. After a visit, everybody was convinced that Bethany was the only possibility for her survival.
