History:
Happiness was admitted to the Bethany family along with her younger sister and brother. Her mother had died giving birth to a fourth child and this child was left in hospital but later died. She came from Mwanza and had been in foster care for a short time since the death of her mother. Her father was unknown and there were no other known relatives. The three siblings including Happiness were brought to Bethany by the Social Welfare Officer of Mwanza as there seemed to be no other person to look after the three of them and it was thought in their best interests to stay together as a family.
On admission to Bethany on 02/08/2001 Happiness, along with her brother and sister were in a very poor state of health. She suffered from malnutrition. Medical tests were done and treatment was started and in a short time there seemed to be much improvement Hapiness makes friends easily and seems very content with life at Bethany.
