Family History:
Damari is a forth born from a family of five children. She has got three sisters and one brother. Her father died in 1996 just before she was born – still in her mother’s womb so she never saw him. On 4th Sept. 2008 her mother died of TB when she was admitted at Bunda Designated Hospital.

None of her relatives were prepared to take any of the children so after the funeral her elder sister whom they share a mother but different fathers was luck to be taken by her relatives in Mwanza. Her elder brother is not known where he is because he disappeared from home long time a go and no body can trace him. Her 15yrs old sister choose to stay at home on her own that she can look after her self but also according to the social officer, she is not a good girl,  she has engaged herself in bad companies so he knew that once Damari is left there, she will be a victim of the same situation. The last born was of a different man from Kenya so her father took her. It was only Damari who had no body to care for her. What happening is that the social officer in Magu Mr. Wambura Kizito comes from the same village with Damari’s mother so he went also for the funeral when he had that she is died. When everybody else took those children he was there watching so he noticed that Damari had no where to go! It is when Mr. Wambura contacted Mr. Bujiku about Damari and was told to bring her trusting that what he was saying was true. On the 25/09/2008, Damari was presented by the social officer from Magu into the Bethany management team meeting and was accepted to join the Bethany family.

Damari seem to be a good girl, she works so hard and she has a good smile all the time. We hope she will maintain that what we see now for the rest of her life.
