Family History:
Baraka’s father died by a car accident in 2000. Later his mother also died of Malaria when Baraka was only four months old. When the mother died, Baraka was adopted by his aunt – Tereza Nyanda who is almost 70 yrs old and a widow to this time. Due to the old age of Baraka’s aunt, she felt that she could no longer look after Baraka.
Therefore, Baraka’s aunt together with her daughter Kabula Mashauri, brought him to the Bethany family to be looked after due to the circumstance stated above. Baraka is very aware that if he misbehaves and does not work hard, will be returned to his grandmother Tereza Nyanda.
