Cathy Riley’s report on the July - August trip

Return

This was my second visit to Bethany. I was a little apprehensive at first as I suffered from home sickness on my first visit yet I really shouldn’t have worried.

Each day started at around 6:00 a.m. and ended at about 8:30 p.m. Long days? Yes, but so rewarding. Each day consisted of teaching English to a group of 13 – 16 year olds, organised games sessions, helping care workers with the general upkeep of the home., line dance or dance classes, preparing for each class lesson, watching the children prepare for their trip to England (songs and drama), participating in prayer meetings and holding our own meetings at the end of the day.

I feel that my life has been enriched by the children. They are so positive about their lives. It makes me feel extremely humble to see these young people who have so little yet give so much. They want to work at their education, they want to succeed and make a better future for themselves.

If you need to see God at work look no further than ‘the Bethany Family.’ I thank the children for making my stay so fulfilling.

God Bless,

Cathy
